How Pest Control Works

Pest control is one of the most common services that people need for house maintenance. Even if you have never had a problem with pests, it's always a good idea to be prepared for when they eventually do show up. This means making sure that you have the right kind of pest control in place at all times.

Different types of pest control

Pest control is a broad term. There are many different types of pests, and there are many different ways to control them. Pest control can be done by professionals or by homeowners themselves, depending on the type of infestation and personal preferences.

For example, a professional exterminator may use chemicals or physically remove insects from the home to protect it from unwanted visitors. Homeowners without access to these services often use traps like sticky flypapers or mouse glue boards in places where pests tend to gather (such as near food sources). Some people also use pesticides like borax which repel cockroaches when sprinkled around baseboards and cabinets.

How much pest control costs

The cost of pest control will vary depending on the size of your property and the type of pests you have. If you have a small home with only one or two rooms infested, for example, you might pay $150 for treatment. But if you have a large, multi-story home with an attic that's full of rats? It may cost quite a bit more.

Costs also depend on how often treatments need to be done—every month or every year—and whether they're done by professionals or someone else (like yourself). Finally, prices may increase depending on where you live; some areas are simply more expensive than others because they're closer to big cities that attract more pests.

With Crosstown Pest, for a preventative quarterly plan the normal price is $38/month and includes a guarantee after each service. Where you live may effect the price as well, if you are in our regular service area the price will be what's listed on our website, If you live outside we may add some cost to offset drive time. If you have an existing issue like mice or ants the price may be higher. Each job can be different so we don't have one price for existing jobs. However most existing jobs are between $137-$249.

Pest Control Service Agreements

Pest control service agreements are a great way to get the peace of mind that comes with knowing your home is protected from pests. Pests can cause serious damage to your home, but with a pest control service agreement, you'll be able to get rid of them before they do too much damage.

Most prest control business lock you in with irksome contracts and force you to keep using those services even if you no longer need them. But with Crosstown Pest, if you need to cancel your service you can, its your service! Just let us know before we come out and we can pause, reschedule, skip or cancel your service anytime.

Customer responsibility

As the customer, it's your responsibility to maintain the property. That means keeping it free of debris, which can attract pests. You should also keep your food properly sealed and stored to prevent attracting mice and cockroaches. Pest control companies will inspect your home before starting pest control so they know what areas need special attention. They'll set up traps and other equipment that help with pest elimination, such as glue boards for rats or ant bait stations for ants.

We will provide a service agreement that spells out how often they'll come back if you see more pests than usual after they leave (also known as "re-treats"). If you see any pests at all while the professionals are there, let them know immediately—they may have missed something on their initial inspection!

Hiring a pest control company can help make your home pest-free.

If you want to be totally bug-free, hiring a pest control company is the best way to go. They can use different types of pesticides and chemicals to prevent pests from infesting your home. But be careful when choosing one; not all companies offer great service at good prices.

One way to find out which companies work well is by reading reviews online or asking people who have used them before what they thought of their experience with that company in particular.
